The 3M 7100179086 is the Cubitron II 990FZ abrasive cloth belt, engineered for high-material-removal sanding and finishing applications. Built on a tough polyester cloth backing, this belt features 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, which cuts faster and requires less operator pressure than conventional abrasive grains. The open-coat construction combined with an antistatic treatment controls dust and resists loading, keeping the belt cutting cleanly throughout its service life. A durable resin bond holds the grain securely and resists heat-related deterioration, extending usable belt life. Rated at 60 grit, this belt is suited for aggressive stock removal on wood and similar materials. It is water-resistant and rated for both wet and dry operation.
This belt is designed for wide-belt sanding machines used in industrial woodworking, cabinetmaking, panel processing, and similar production environments. The 110-inch length and 64-inch width make it a large-format belt intended for stationary drum or platen sanders common in professional millwork and panel shops. Its open-coat, antistatic construction makes it particularly well-suited for sanding softwoods, hardwoods, and engineered wood products where loading is a persistent concern. Wet or dry compatibility adds flexibility for finishing operations where coolant or water mist is used.
Designed for use in wide-belt drum and platen sanders that accept a 110-inch by 64-inch abrasive belt in either wet or dry sanding configurations.
Wide-belt abrasive belts of this size should be installed and tensioned by qualified equipment operators following the sander manufacturer's specifications. Power down and lock out the machine completely before changing belts. Inspect the belt for tears, fraying, or splice damage before installation, and never operate a damaged belt at speed. Consult the machine manufacturer's manual for proper tracking and tension adjustment procedures.
