The 3M 7100169961 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt built for detail finishing work across a wide range of metal applications. Constructed with a nonwoven open web material bonded with aluminum oxide abrasive grain and resin on a scrim backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, contour finishing, and straightline-brushed finishes. The open web structure reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing for extended run time and consistent results. Licensed trades and finishing technicians use this belt on robotic processing equipment as well as handheld and stationary belt tools.
This belt is suited for fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, cleaning, and stainless steel finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 24 inches long and 1/4 inch wide, it fits narrow belt tools commonly used for detail and edge work. The reinforced scrim backing provides flexibility to conform to complex contours and edges without breaking down prematurely. It performs well in both manual and automated finishing lines where consistent surface results are required across production runs.
Designed for use on narrow belt finishing tools accepting a 24-inch by 1/4-inch belt, commonly used in metal fabrication and surface conditioning applications on a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified finishing technician familiar with belt tool operation. Before mounting, power down and lock out the belt tool per applicable safety procedures. Verify belt tracking and tensioning per the tool manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and tool guard condition before each use.
