The 3M 7100169619 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for controlled surface finishing on a wide range of substrates. Built on a durable polyester scrim backing, it delivers moderate strength that sits between aggressive cutting belts and light-duty finishing belts. The non-woven nylon fiber construction allows the belt to conform to workpiece geometry while removing scale, blending scratches, or preparing surfaces without marring the base material. Aluminum oxide (AO) mineral provides consistent cutting action. Trades and fabricators working with metal components, including stainless steel and brass, rely on this belt for intermediate and final finishing passes.
This belt is suited for use on portable and stationary belt sanders in fabrication shops, metal finishing operations, and maintenance environments. Its open-web, load-resistant construction reduces clogging during extended runs, making it appropriate for both light production work and one-off service tasks. The low-stretch backing supports precision surface conditioning sequences where consistent belt tension is required throughout the cut.
Designed for use on belt sanders and surface conditioning equipment that accept 18.125-inch by 0.25-inch belts. Verify tool compatibility and belt tracking specifications before use.
Installation should be performed by qualified operators familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the sander before mounting or replacing the belt. Confirm belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage prior to each use and do not exceed the rated operating speed of the abrasive.
