The 3M 7100164989 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for secure, low-resistance wire terminations in electrical wiring applications. It accepts 22 to 18 AWG copper conductors and uses a crimp connection method for a reliable mechanical and electrical bond. The heat-shrink insulation sleeve provides strain relief and environmental protection at the barrel. This terminal is well suited for panel wiring, control circuits, and general electrical assembly work performed by licensed electricians and experienced technicians.
This ring terminal is used in residential and light commercial electrical work wherever a No. 6 stud connection is required. Typical applications include control panel builds, low-voltage wiring harnesses, appliance wiring, and field terminations on HVAC control boards or similar equipment. The red color coding identifies it as compatible with 22 to 18 AWG wire range per standard industry color conventions. Each package contains 25 terminals.
Designed for use with 22 to 18 AWG copper conductors on No. 6 stud termination points in control panels, wiring harnesses, and general electrical assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified technician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before terminating any wires. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool matched to the terminal barrel size to achieve a proper crimp — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools as an improper crimp can cause high resistance or pull-out failure. Inspect the heat-shrink sleeve after crimping for damage and replace any terminal that shows cracking or incomplete seating.
