The 3M 7100163214 is a 700 Series unitized abrasive wheel built for mid-sequence and heavy-duty surface finishing tasks on metalwork. Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral at medium-to-hard density, the wheel delivers consistent performance for deburring punched holes in stainless steel, removing heavy flashing, smoothing medium-sized pits and scratches, and cleaning heavy scale or weld discoloration. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor hole, it mounts via a unitized wheel mandrel sold separately. The open web construction resists loading, extending service life under sustained use.
This wheel suits fabrication shops, weld cleanup operations, and metal finishing lines handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including aluminum. It is appropriate for mid-sequence applications where a harder wheel density is needed to outlast lighter 600 Series unitized wheels. Installation and wheel changes should be performed by a qualified operator following the tool manufacturer's instructions and applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Always power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the rated maximum RPM marked on the wheel or its packaging. A mandrel arbor is required for mounting and is not included.
