The 3M 7100157701 is an N95 disposable respirator built for trade professionals who spend extended time in dusty, particle-heavy environments. Rated by NIOSH for at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against non-oil-based particles and aerosols, it uses Advanced Electrostatic Media to capture airborne particles while reducing breathing resistance. A built-in Cool Flow valve vents exhaled heat and moisture, reducing heat build-up inside the facepiece during longer-duration tasks. The adjustable M-noseclip conforms to the nose bridge for a secure, low-pressure seal. Stretchable braided headbands hold the respirator in place without slipping. The unit weighs 0.19 pounds and ships in packs of two.
This respirator is suited for residential and light commercial applications involving sanding bare wood, non-lead painted surfaces, or drywall, as well as grinding, sawing, sweeping, and fiberglass insulation installation. It is also effective against pollen, mold spores, and dust particles encountered during outdoor maintenance such as cutting firewood, raking, and mowing. HVAC technicians, drywall installers, general contractors, and maintenance professionals working in dusty conditions will find this respirator appropriate for shift-length wear. The Cool Flow valve makes it a preferred choice over non-valved alternatives for tasks exceeding a couple of hours.
Designed for use in non-oil-based particulate environments. Occupational and hazardous-environment use requires a government-regulated respiratory protection program such as an OSHA-compliant program. For DIY or home use, apply only in non-harmful environments per product labeling.
Fitting should be performed by a qualified person in accordance with applicable OSHA respiratory protection requirements before each use in occupational settings. Conduct a user seal check every time the respirator is donned to confirm proper fit. Inspect the facepiece, valve, and headbands before each use and discard if any component is damaged, soiled, or deformed. Misuse or improper fit may result in inadequate protection; consult product packaging and insert for full limitations and warnings.
