The 3M 7100145364 is a coated abrasive disc engineered for high-speed stock removal on a wide range of substrates. Built on the Cubitron II 775L platform, it uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology — triangular ceramic mineral grains that slice through material rather than plowing or gouging like conventional abrasives. The result is a disc that cuts significantly faster and outlasts standard abrasive products by a wide margin. The polyester film backing adds tear resistance and helps the disc hold its edge under aggressive cutting conditions. At 400 grit, this disc is suited to fine stock removal and surface refinement. It is used by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians working in production and repair environments.
This disc is designed for use with 5-inch random orbital and disc sanders equipped with a Stikit pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) mounting system. The Stikit attachment allows fast disc changes without tools, reducing downtime in high-volume production settings. The 775L is well suited for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and painted surfaces where controlled material removal is required. Its film backing performs consistently in applications where paper-backed discs tend to tear or delaminate under load.
Designed for use with 5-inch Stikit-compatible PSA disc sanders and random orbital sanders accepting PSA-mount abrasive discs.
Mounting is performed by aligning the disc face to a clean, dry PSA backup pad and applying firm pressure to seat the adhesive. Ensure the backup pad surface is free of debris before mounting to maintain full adhesive contact. Power down the sander and disconnect it from the power source before changing discs. Follow applicable workplace safety guidelines for abrasive tool operation, including eye and respiratory protection when grinding or finishing metal.
