The 3M 7100145351 is a Cubitron II 784F cloth abrasive belt engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It measures 132 inches long and 3 inches wide, running at 80 grit. The belt uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, which combines shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals in a precise blend. This combination delivers faster, more consistent stock removal and longer service life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. A durable resin bond resists heat-related deterioration, and a waterproof YF-weight polyester backing supports both wet and dry use. Grinding aid is incorporated to cool the abrasive process on heat-sensitive alloys. Licensed HVAC fabricators, metal fabrication shops, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This belt is suited for robotic, pressure-assisted, and hand-operated belt grinders handling medium-pressure grinding and blending tasks on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals. Its moderately flexible backing allows it to conform to both straight and contoured work surfaces, making it practical for deburring, weld blending, and surface conditioning. The waterproof construction means it performs reliably in wet coolant environments as well as dry shop conditions. Reduced changeout frequency directly lowers downtime in high-cycle production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement belt for standard 132-inch by 3-inch belt grinder machines operating in medium-pressure metal grinding and blending applications.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the belt grinder manufacturer's setup instructions. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for cracks, tears, or separation at the splice before each use and replace if damage is found.
