The 3M 7100142467 is a 2-inch quick change surface conditioning XD disc designed for aggressive material removal and edge work on metal surfaces. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to a non-woven XD substrate, it delivers high initial cut rate and extended cut performance on both flat surfaces and edges. The stiff resin bond maintains edge durability under high contact pressure, making this disc a dependable option for deburring and blending operations that require stock removal before final finishing or coating. Licensed trades and metalworking professionals install and use this disc in production and maintenance environments.
This disc is suited for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys. The medium-grade aluminum oxide construction targets applications where aggressive blending and deburring are needed while still leaving a finish ready for coating or final surface treatment. The open web design responds to surface irregularities and reduces the risk of gouging, making it appropriate for contoured or detailed workpieces as well as flat stock edgework.
Designed for use with standard quick change disc holders and backup pads accepting 2-inch quick change abrasive discs. Compatible with ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the power tool fully stopped and unplugged or the air supply disconnected. Verify the quick change holder is rated for the disc diameter and the tool RPM does not exceed the disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc and holder for wear or damage before each use and replace any components that show cracking, fraying, or deformation. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE including eye and face protection during grinding and surface conditioning operations.
