The 3M 7100141925 is a Scotch-Brite CS-DC Clean and Strip disc engineered for aggressive paint removal, rust removal, coating removal, and surface preparation on metal workpieces. Constructed from a non-woven web material impregnated with extra coarse (XCS) silicon carbide abrasive mineral, the disc delivers sharp, consistent cutting action while resisting loading and heat buildup. At 8 inches in diameter, it covers more surface area than wire brushes of comparable size without altering the base geometry of the part being worked. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators in metalworking, welding prep, and industrial maintenance rely on this disc for rapid stock removal where surface condition must be controlled.
This disc is suited for paint prep, coating stripping, and corrosion removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both production and maintenance environments. The thin, flexible non-woven construction allows the disc to conform to contours and reach into tight corners where flat rigid abrasives cannot follow. Typical applications include weld preparation, surface conditioning before priming or painting, and removal of mill scale or oxidation. It is used in fabrication shops, MRO settings, and field service scenarios where a consistent, repeatable surface finish is required before protective coating application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment disc for angle grinders and disc sanders accepting 8-inch non-woven clean and strip discs with a center arbor mount.
Installation and operation of abrasive discs should be performed by trained personnel familiar with angle grinder safety and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive wheel standards. Verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated RPM of the disc before mounting. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Always use appropriate eye, face, and respiratory protection when operating abrasive discs on metal surfaces.
