The 3M 7100141916 is a Scotch-Brite Cut and Polish Disc designed for satin and high-luster finishing, light deburring, and surface cleaning on a variety of metals. The disc uses an aluminum oxide mineral abrasive bonded into an open non-woven web construction. This design resists loading, meaning swarf and debris do not pack into the disc during use, which extends service life compared to conventional coated abrasives. The 6-inch diameter disc mounts on a 1/4-inch arbor and is suited for use on bench motors or straight-shaft tools. Metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians reach for this disc when blending and finishing require both cut rate and surface-finish control in a single step.
This disc fits into workflows where aggressive blending and finishing are needed without excessive heat buildup at the workpiece. The open-web construction allows airflow across the contact area, keeping heat retention low and enabling extended dwell on the surface without warping thin stock or discoloring stainless and non-ferrous metals. It is appropriate for use in light industrial, fabrication shop, and maintenance environments on metal parts requiring consistent surface finish. Compatible with bench-mounted motors and straight-shaft grinders or die grinders accepting a 1/4-inch arbor.
Designed for use on bench motors and straight-shaft tools accepting a 1/4-inch arbor; suitable for application on a variety of metal workpieces requiring blending, finishing, or light deburring.
Mounting and operation should be performed by trained personnel familiar with abrasive product safety requirements. Confirm the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the maximum rated speed of the disc before mounting. Power down and de-energize the tool completely before mounting or changing the disc. Always inspect the disc for damage before use and use appropriate eye and face protection per ANSI B7.1 guidelines.
