The 3M 7100141340 is an aluminum oxide cloth-backed abrasive belt designed for general-purpose material removal across metal and wood substrates. Running at 150 grit, it delivers consistent stock removal on mild steel, carbon steel, aluminum, bronze, and brass. The XF-weight polyester cloth backing is waterproof and built to handle the heat and pressure of sustained grinding and heavy sanding cycles. A resin bond system locks the abrasive mineral in place under both dry and wet operating conditions. Licensed tradespeople and shop technicians working on deburring lines, backstand grinders, and wide belt finishing machines rely on this belt for reliable, repeatable results across production runs.
This belt measures 24 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, making it suited for benchtop belt sanders, portable belt grinders, backstand units, and stroke sanding setups. It performs on mild and carbon steel as the primary application, and is also effective on softer nonferrous metals including aluminum, bronze, and brass. Some woodworking applications are supported as well. The 150 grit rating positions this belt in the medium finishing range, useful after initial rough stock removal and before fine finishing passes.
Designed for use on backstand grinders, benchtop belt sanders, portable belt grinders, stroke sanders, and wide belt grinding and finishing machines that accept a 24 inch by 1/2 inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator or shop technician following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the sander or grinder before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tensioning per the machine's manual before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use and replace immediately if any defects are found.
