The 3M 7100139277 is an elastomeric, single-component, neutral-cure silicone sealant designed for firestop applications in fire-rated construction assemblies. It cures upon exposure to atmospheric humidity to form a flexible seal that provides up to 4-hour protection against the spread of fire, smoke, and noxious gas. The sealant also functions as an acoustic barrier, achieving an STC rating of 56 when tested in an STC 56-rated wall assembly. It ships ready to use with no mixing required. Licensed firestop contractors and commercial construction crews apply this product during rough-in and finishing stages of rated wall and floor assembly work.
This sealant is used in commercial and residential construction to seal through-penetrations and construction joints in fire-rated wall and floor assemblies. Typical applications include conduit, pipe, cable, and structural joint penetrations through fire-rated barriers. It meets International Building Code requirements and supports installations where smoke and acoustic performance are also required. The light gray color blends with standard concrete and gypsum substrates. It is sold in a 4.5-gallon pail suited for high-volume job sites and contractor crews working multiple penetrations.
Designed for use in tested and listed fire-rated assemblies sealing construction joints and through-penetrations including conduit, pipe, and cable applications in fire-rated wall and floor systems per IBC and applicable life safety codes.
Installation must be performed by qualified firestop contractors or tradespeople familiar with fire-rated assembly requirements. Verify that the specific assembly configuration is tested and listed before applying. Follow the published system drawing for joint width, depth, and backer rod requirements applicable to the rated assembly. Do not apply over wet surfaces or in conditions outside the product cure range; consult the system listing for substrate preparation requirements.
