The 3M 7100139275 is a double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape engineered for demanding bonding applications. At 25 mil thick, it conforms to irregular surfaces and bonds firmly to high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many plastics. The closed-cell acrylic foam core delivers cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance in a single tape layer. A PE film liner protects the adhesive until installation. This tape also resists plasticizer migration, making it suitable for use alongside PVC and similar materials. It carries a UL listing under UL 746C. The roll measures 48 inches wide by 72 yards long, sized for large-format or high-volume bonding work. Fabricators, glaziers, and industrial assembly technicians are the primary installers.
This tape is used in panel bonding, sign assembly, architectural glazing, and industrial fabrication where mechanical fasteners are impractical or undesirable. The 48-inch roll width suits wide-format laminating and large substrate coverage in both commercial and industrial environments. Its foam core accommodates surface irregularities and minor gaps, providing a durable structural bond without visible hardware. Applications requiring plasticizer resistance, such as PVC signage or soft-substrate assemblies, benefit from this tape's formulation.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and compatible plastics in industrial, commercial, and fabrication settings.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry all bonding surfaces before application to achieve rated bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure across the tape after positioning substrates to activate the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Allow adequate dwell time before applying service loads. Installers should follow applicable workplace safety guidelines when handling large roll formats.
