The 3M 7100139138 is a one-piece metal collar assembly designed to firestop 1.5-inch non-metallic pipe, cables, and combination penetrations in both new construction and retrofit applications. The collar encases 3M Fire Barrier Wrap Strip Ultra GS material, a heat-expanding intumescent that expands when exposed to fire, sealing the opening around a melting or burning plastic pipe. Achieved fire ratings reach up to 3 hours in tested and listed systems. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and fire-stop contractors install this device as part of a compliant through-penetration firestop system in floor and wall assemblies.
This device is suited for residential and commercial installations where 1.5-inch non-metallic pipe, cabling, or mixed combinations pass through fire-rated wall or floor assemblies. It is particularly useful in retrofit scenarios where disruption to existing construction must be minimized. The tool-free mounting system accepts 3M Ultra Fast Anchors, allowing installation in approximately one minute using only a pair of pliers. Conventional anchoring methods such as toggle bolts for gypsum or masonry anchors for concrete are also compatible with this device.
Designed for use with 1.5-inch non-metallic pipe, cable, and combination penetrations in tested and listed fire-rated wall and floor assemblies. Requires 2 Ultra Fast Anchors per device, sold separately.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or certified firestop contractors in accordance with the applicable building and fire codes. Shut off and depressurize any piping system before beginning penetration work in the surrounding assembly. Verify the correct anchor type for the substrate — gypsum board, concrete, or masonry — and follow the tested system listing for the specific wall or floor assembly being firestopped. Do not modify the collar or intumescent material, as doing so may void the fire rating of the listed system.
