The 3M 7100138290 is a radial bristle brush designed for surface blending, deburring, finishing, and light material removal on metal and other hard surfaces. Built with Cubitron ceramic aluminum oxide abrasive grain embedded directly into the bristle tips, it delivers consistent, controlled cutting action throughout the life of the brush. The brush measures 6 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch in face width, and 1 inch in arbor hole size, making it compatible with standard bench-mounted and pedestal-mounted rotary equipment. At 36 grit, it is suited for aggressive surface preparation and weld blending. Each case includes 5 brushes with an adapter included per unit. Typical users include metal fabricators, pipefitters, HVAC technicians, and maintenance trades working on ferrous and non-ferrous components.
This radial bristle brush is well-suited for light to moderate surface preparation in both industrial and trade service environments. Common applications include weld seam blending, rust and scale removal, edge deburring, and pre-treatment surface conditioning on pipe, ductwork, sheet metal, and structural steel. The 36-grit ceramic abrasive grain makes it particularly useful where faster stock removal is needed before finer finishing steps. The brush is designed for use on rotary tools and grinders with a compatible arbor setup. Sold in cases of 5, it is appropriate for shop use or field service where multiple units are needed on a job.
Designed for use with bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and rotary finishing equipment fitted with a 1-inch arbor. Adapter is included to accommodate additional arbor configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Always power down and lockout-tagout the grinder or rotary tool before mounting or removing the brush. Verify that the tool RPM rating does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the brush before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating abrasive brushes on any rotary equipment.
