The 3M 7100138178 is a Scotch-Brite Radial Bristle Disc designed for surface preparation, coating removal, and finishing on metal and other substrates. Built with ceramic abrasive grain molded directly into flexible bristles, the disc delivers aggressive cutting action and maintains consistent abrasive performance throughout its service life. At 3 inches in diameter and 120 grit, it is sized for targeted work on moderate to fine surface prep tasks. The disc contains no wire filaments, reducing the risk of wire fragment embedment or operator injury. Licensed trades and fabricators working in metal finishing, welding cleanup, and restoration applications will find it well suited to high-production surface work.
This disc is used in industrial, fabrication, and maintenance settings where paint stripping, rust removal, oxide cleanup, weld burn removal, adhesive removal, and light deburring are required. The flexible bristles conform to contours and complex part geometries, making it effective on irregular surfaces that would be difficult to address with rigid abrasive tools. It is suitable for use on ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, and similar hard substrates. The disc format is appropriate for use with compatible right-angle grinders or rotary tools that accept 3-inch radial bristle disc arbors.
Designed for use with rotary tools and right-angle grinders that accept 3-inch radial bristle discs with a compatible arbor mounting system.
Installation and use of abrasive discs should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with grinder safety and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive wheel standards. Verify that the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc RPM rating before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, safety glasses, and gloves. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never use a damaged or deformed bristle disc.
