The 3M 7100135078 is a Scotch-Brite Radial Bristle Disc designed for surface preparation, finishing, and coating removal in industrial and trade applications. Built with proprietary 3M ceramic abrasive grain molded directly into flexible bristles, this 1-inch diameter disc delivers aggressive cutting action and consistent finish quality throughout its full service life. At 120 grit, it targets paint, rust, heavy oxides, weld burns, adhesives, stains, and general surface contaminants. The curved, flexible bristle design conforms to contours and complex part geometries, making it effective on both flat and irregular surfaces. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators install and use this disc with compatible rotary tools and die grinders.
This disc is suited for metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance applications in both shop and field environments. Typical uses include weld prep and post-weld cleanup, surface deburring, coating stripping, and blending on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The bristle spacing is engineered to prevent loading when removing coatings or other high-buildup substances, keeping the disc cutting efficiently across large surface areas. It contains no wire filaments, reducing the risk of wire breakage hazards common with traditional wire brushes.
Designed for use with rotary die grinders and mandrel-mount tool systems that accept 1-inch radial bristle disc accessories. Verify tool RPM rating against the disc maximum speed before use.
Installation and operation are typically performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a compatible die grinder and appropriate mandrel arbor. Disconnect and de-energize the tool before mounting or removing the disc. Always confirm the tool speed rating does not exceed the disc maximum rated RPM. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during operation, in accordance with applicable workplace safety standards.
