The 3M 7100128757 is a Cubitron II 784F cloth abrasive belt engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It measures 24 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and cuts at 80 grit. The belt uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, a proprietary blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals that delivers a faster, more consistent cut and significantly longer service life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. A durable resin bond resists heat-related deterioration, and a grinding aid cools the abrasive zone on heat-sensitive alloys. YF-weight polyester backing provides the structural integrity appropriate for this 80-grit grade.
This belt is suited for grinding and blending operations on all metals in both wet and dry conditions. The moderately flexible polyester backing conforms to straight and contoured surfaces, making it practical for a range of part geometries. It is well matched to robotic and pressure-assisted finishing lines where consistent cut rate and reduced changeout frequency directly affect throughput. Fabricators, weld finishers, and metal finishing technicians working in production environments are the primary installers and users of this consumable.
Designed for use on all metals in medium-pressure grinding and blending applications, including robotic and pressure-assisted systems that accept 24-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified operators following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines and applicable workplace safety standards. Ensure the grinder or belt finishing machine is fully powered down and locked out before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to machine specifications before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection and gloves, when handling abrasive belts.
