The 3M 7100115983 Scotch-Brite Laser Braze LB-UW is a unitized non-woven finishing wheel engineered to blend and finish silicon bronze welds and surface imperfections produced during automotive laser brazing operations. The wheel combines 3M non-woven Scotch-Brite material with 3M Precision Shaped Grain abrasive for faster cut rates and extended service life compared to conventional non-woven wheels. At 8 inches in diameter, it is sized for bench-mounted or automated finishing equipment used in production body shop and automotive manufacturing environments. Fabricators and finishing technicians working in high-volume automotive production are the primary installers and operators of this product.
This wheel is intended for blending and finishing laser-brazed seams on silicon bronze and similar soft metal substrates in automotive body production lines. Its open web construction resists loading during continuous use, making it well suited for repetitive finishing passes on production components. The flexible non-woven construction reduces the need for frequent machine recalibration when transitioning between workpieces, supporting consistent throughput on automated or semi-automated finishing stations.
Designed for use on silicon bronze and similar soft metals in automotive laser brazing finishing applications. Confirm spindle speed rating and arbor size compatibility with your specific finishing equipment before mounting.
Mounting and operation should be performed by qualified finishing technicians or production equipment operators familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and never exceed the rated maximum RPM marked on the wheel or its packaging. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
