The 3M 7100113143 is a Cubitron II Hookit 947A coated abrasive cloth disc designed for aggressive material removal on demanding metals. Built on an X-weight polyester-cotton cloth backing, the disc uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology to cut faster and last longer than conventional abrasive grains. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the workpiece surface, and a resin bond system resists thermal degradation to minimize discoloration. At 6 inches in diameter and 40 grit, this disc is suited for stock removal and blending work in fabrication and finishing environments. Metal fabricators, weld grinders, and production operators are the primary installers and users.
This disc is intended for medium to high pressure grinding and blending applications on stainless steel, carbon steel, nickel alloys, cobalt chrome, and other exotic alloys. The Hookit attachment system allows fast disc changes without tools, making it practical for high-volume production environments where downtime between disc changes must be minimized. It is well suited for angle grinder and right-angle sander applications in metal fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and welding operations where heat-sensitive materials require controlled grinding temperatures.
Designed for use with Hookit-compatible random orbital sanders and angle grinders accepting 6-inch hook-and-loop discs. Suited for stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys as noted in manufacturer specifications.
This disc is installed and replaced by metal fabricators and grinding operators — no licensed trade certification is required, but proper PPE including eye protection, gloves, and hearing protection is mandatory during use. Ensure the tool is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Verify the tool's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc's rated speed before operation. Inspect the Hookit backing pad for wear before each disc change to ensure secure attachment.
