The 3M 7100112578 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt engineered for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed. This self-renewing cut mechanism delivers a consistent material removal rate and a predictable, repeatable surface finish across the full life of the belt. The belt measures 132 inches in length and 3 inches in width. It is used in industrial grinding and finishing operations, including robotic and automated setups.
This belt is suited for intermediate stock removal and fine polishing ahead of plating, buffing, or other surface treatment processes. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured workpiece geometries, making it appropriate for shaped components where a flat rigid abrasive would leave uneven contact. It is commonly used in metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and manufacturing environments where consistent surface finish grades are required across high-volume production runs. Trades and operators working with stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and similar metals will find this belt appropriate for pre-plate and pre-buff finishing stages.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit abrasive belt for belt grinders and finishing machines that accept 132-inch by 3-inch abrasive belts.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified grinding or finishing equipment operators following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the belt grinder or finishing machine is fully powered down and de-energized before changing belts. Verify belt tracking alignment after installation and before resuming operation. Follow applicable shop safety procedures including use of appropriate PPE when operating abrasive belt equipment.
