The 3M 7100106737 is a Quick-Change Type S disc backing pad designed to mount and drive quick-change abrasive discs in grinding, blending, and surface preparation applications. It uses a 1/4-20 female thread attachment and is rated to a maximum of 12,000 RPM. The medium-density construction provides controlled flex during use, allowing the disc to conform to work surfaces without excessive deflection. This backing pad is compatible with the Roloc TS quick-change system, making disc swaps fast without tools. It is intended for use by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with angle grinders or die grinders.
This backing pad suits light industrial and maintenance environments where frequent disc changes are needed across metal grinding, weld blending, rust removal, and deburring tasks. The Quick-Change Type S interface locks and releases abrasive discs with a simple twist, reducing downtime between disc changes. It is appropriate for both shop and field use on structural steel, pipe, sheet metal, and fabricated components.
Compatible with Roloc TS quick-change abrasive discs. Designed for use with grinders and die grinders equipped with a 1/4-20 spindle thread.
Thread the backing pad onto the grinder spindle by hand until snug, then verify it is fully seated before operating. Always confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 12,000 RPM maximum rating of the backing pad before use. Disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the backing pad. Inspect the pad for cracks, deformation, or thread damage before each use and replace if any damage is found.
