The 3M 7100106141 is a nonwoven abrasive disc designed for wet or dry finishing and polishing of contoured surfaces on softer materials. Aluminum oxide particles are coated onto a flexible nonwoven backing, delivering a uniform, consistent scratch pattern with each pass. The pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing allows for fast disc changes on compatible random orbital and disc sanders. This disc is suited for finishing work on plastics, aluminum, brass, and copper where controlled surface refinement is required. Installation and use are handled by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians across light manufacturing and trade applications.
This disc is intended for finishing and polishing operations where reducing hand sanding and buffing steps is a priority. The flexible nonwoven construction conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it effective on formed sheet metal, tubing, and plastic components. Color-coded micron grading allows technicians to quickly identify and select the correct cut level without referencing packaging. PSA-backed discs in this series are available in 2.0, 3.0, and 9.0 micron grades to match the finishing stage required.
Designed for use with PSA-compatible random orbital sanders and disc sanding tools. Suitable for finishing plastics, aluminum, brass, and copper. Available grades in this series include 2.0, 3.0, and 9.0 micron.
Ensure the tool's backing pad is clean and free of debris before attaching the PSA disc to promote full adhesion and prevent premature release during operation. Align the disc centered on the pad before pressing firmly to seat the adhesive. When using wet, verify that the tool is rated for wet operation before proceeding. Dispose of worn discs when surface finish quality degrades, as continued use of a loaded disc reduces cut consistency.
