The 3M 7100105550 is a square abrasive pad designed for fast grinding and blending in tight geometry — channels, fillets, and corners — as well as spotting work on flat surfaces. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, the pad delivers the durability needed for aggressive stock removal without premature breakdown. The aluminum oxide mineral construction at 60 grit provides a fast-cutting action as the pad rotates: the corners bite into the workpiece and wear down progressively to expose fresh abrasive. Licensed metalworking fabricators, welders, and shop technicians rely on this pad for corner weld grinding and surface cleaning tasks where a round pad cannot reach effectively.
This pad is suited for use on metal fabrication applications including weld cleanup, surface blending, and deburring in confined areas. It performs on steel and other metals where controlled, localized abrasion is required. The square geometry gives the operator precise access to inside corners, fillets, and channel profiles where conventional round or disc abrasives lose contact. Minimum order quantity is 50 units per the supplier specification, making this product appropriate for shop stock or fleet service replenishment.
Designed as an OEM-style abrasive replacement pad for use with compatible rotary and reciprocating hand grinding tools accepting square pad attachments of this form factor.
Installation and use of abrasive pads should be performed by qualified shop technicians or tradespeople familiar with abrasive tool safety practices. Ensure the tool is powered off and unplugged before mounting or replacing the pad, and verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the rated speed of the abrasive. Operators should wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves during grinding operations. Follow ANSI B11 and applicable OSHA abrasive safety standards for grinding and surface conditioning tasks.
