The 3M 7100105498 is a ceramic grain square abrasive pad designed for demanding metalworking grinding applications. Built on an X-weight cloth backing and resin bonded for heat resistance, this pad delivers consistent cutting performance across the full service life of the abrasive. A built-in grinding aid promotes cooler grinding, reducing heat buildup at the workpiece surface. As the pad rotates, its corners engage material for fast, aggressive cutting action. The corners wear progressively, continuously exposing fresh ceramic grain for a consistent cut rate and chatter-free operation throughout use. The 80-grit designation places this pad in the medium-coarse range, suited for stock removal and surface conditioning on metal.
This pad is intended for metalworking environments where controlled stock removal and surface finish are required. Typical applications include weld blending, deburring, and surface preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The X-weight cloth backing provides the rigidity and durability needed for production grinding tasks performed by fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and maintenance machinists. The pad measures 2 inches x 2 inches x 3/8 inches and is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 50 units, making it well suited for shop-stock replenishment and production-floor use.
Designed for use in metalworking applications involving ferrous and non-ferrous stock removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning where a 2 inches x 2 inches x 3/8 inches square abrasive pad is required.
Installation and use of abrasive pads on power tools should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with the equipment and applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA abrasive safety standards. Confirm that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the abrasive pad before operation. Inspect the pad for damage before each use and replace if cracking, delamination, or excessive wear is observed. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating grinding equipment.
