The 3M 7100101199 is the Cubitron II 984F coated abrasive belt, engineered for aggressive stock removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. Built on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, it measures 132 inches long by 2 inches wide and runs at 120 grit. The belt is loaded with 3M Precision-Shaped Grain and a proprietary grinding aid that keeps cut rates high while managing heat at the workpiece surface. It is designed for medium to high pressure applications in fabrication, grinding, and finishing operations where part quality and throughput both matter.
This belt is suited for robotic grinding cells, pressure-assisted belt grinders, and manual flat or contour grinding setups. Its primary application is on stainless steel and high-nickel alloys where heat-related discoloration and stress cracking are critical concerns. The 984F is also effective on carbon steel and cobalt chrome workpieces. Fabricators, weld finishers, and aerospace component shops running automated or semi-automated lines will find the belt life and consistent cut rate reduce changeover frequency and improve throughput over conventional abrasive belts.
Designed for use on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys in medium to high pressure belt grinding and finishing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Ensure the grinder or belt machine is fully de-energized and locked out before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt, contact wheel, and platen for wear or damage prior to each use.
