The 3M 7100100961 Roloca Fibre Disc 787C is an abrasive grinding disc engineered for rapid material removal on hard-to-grind metals. Built with 3M Precision Shaped Grain, this coated disc delivers higher cut rates and cooler cutting temperatures compared to conventional fibre discs. At 3 inches in diameter with an 80 grit rating and a maximum operating speed of 20000 RPM, it is suited for demanding metalworking tasks including weld removal, blending, and finish refinement. A grinding aid is incorporated into the construction to reduce heat buildup during use, making it particularly effective on heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel and high nickel alloys.
This disc is intended for trade professionals performing metal fabrication, weld grinding, beveling, and edge chamfering on stainless steel and high nickel alloys. The Roloca attachment system locks the disc securely onto the backing plate without tools, reducing changeover time in production or field environments. Its stiff fibre backing and strong resin bond support durability and tear resistance through heavy-duty grinding cycles. Typical users include fabricators, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working on structural and process piping applications where surface finish and heat control are critical.
Designed for use with Roloca-style angle grinder backing pads compatible with 3-inch fibre discs. Best suited for stainless steel and high nickel alloy workpieces requiring controlled heat input during grinding.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the backing pad and disc rating meet or exceed the tool's maximum RPM before mounting. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection in accordance with applicable ANSI and OSHA grinding safety standards. Inspect the disc for damage or defects before each use and do not operate above the rated maximum speed of 20000 RPM.
