The 3M 7100096355 is the Scotch-Brite HS-DC High Strength non-woven abrasive disc, engineered for general-purpose surface conditioning on metal workpieces. Built on a durable, open-web construction with aluminum oxide abrasive mineral and a 1/4 inch arbor mount, this 6 inch diameter disc handles deburring, cleaning, denibing, defuzzing, and satin finishing in a single tool. The open-web design resists loading and dissipates heat, keeping the abrasive cutting at a consistent rate from the first pass to the last. Weighing approximately 0.09 pounds, the disc is light enough for extended use without adding fatigue to the operator.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication, welding prep and cleanup, and finishing operations in both shop and field environments. Typical applications include removing burrs from cut edges, cleaning weld seams, and achieving uniform satin finishes on steel, stainless steel, and other metals. The conformable construction allows the disc to follow contoured surfaces, and discs can be stacked to cover larger surface areas or increase cut aggressiveness. It is commonly used by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople operating angle grinders or dedicated disc tools.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit disc for angle grinders and disc finishing tools accepting a 6 inch diameter, 1/4 inch arbor non-woven abrasive disc.
Mounting and operation should be performed by qualified personnel following tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI safety standards for abrasive products. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing any disc. Confirm the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the maximum rated RPM of the disc before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use damaged or deformed discs.
