The 3M 7100094824 is an aluminum oxide slotted cloth disc designed for internal surface work on metal, rubber, plastic, and composite materials. The disc measures 5/8 inch in diameter and carries a P180 grit rating, placing it in the fine-grit range suited for light material removal and finishing work. Its slotted construction allows the disc to compress radially when pushed into a hole or cylinder, maintaining full contact with inside diameters and curved internal walls. A threaded eyelet arbor hole accepts compatible mandrels for secure attachment to rotary tools. Cloth backing adds tear and fray resistance compared to paper-backed alternatives, extending service life in repetitive push applications. Installers and fabricators working with bores, holes, and internal radii will find this disc effective for deburring, blending, cleaning, polishing, and chamfering tasks.
This disc is intended for push applications inside holes, cylinders, and internal radii. It performs well on steel, stainless steel, rubber, plastic, and composite workpieces where a fine finish or light deburring pass is needed. Typical use cases include chamfering drilled holes, cleaning weld flash from tube interiors, and blending surface irregularities inside bores. When selecting disc diameter, choose a size at least 1/2 inch smaller than the internal diameter of the workpiece to allow the slotted construction to compress and maintain consistent contact pressure throughout the stroke.
Designed for use with compatible Standard Abrasives mandrels, sold separately. Suitable for use in rotary tools and die grinders configured for mandrel-mounted abrasive discs in internal bore and cylinder applications.
Installation and mounting of abrasive discs should be performed by qualified personnel following all applicable tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety protocols. Ensure the rotary tool is fully powered down and isolated before mounting or removing the disc from the mandrel. Verify that operating RPM of the tool does not exceed the rated speed of the disc and mandrel assembly. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when performing abrasive operations.
