The 3M 7100085783 Scotch-Brite HS-DC is a high-strength, non-woven abrasive disc engineered for general-purpose surface finishing tasks in metal fabrication and industrial applications. Built on a durable open-web construction with aluminum oxide abrasive, the disc cleans, deburrs, denibs, defuzzes, and produces satin finishes on a wide range of metals. The open-web structure resists loading and runs cool, which keeps the abrasive cutting at a consistent rate throughout the full life of the disc. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1/4-inch arbor, it mounts directly to compatible disc grinders and angle grinders used by metal trades professionals.
This disc is suited for residential and commercial metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and light industrial environments. Typical applications include deburring machined parts, cleaning weld seams, achieving uniform satin finishes on stainless steel and other metals, and surface prep before coating or finishing. The conformable disc body and wear-resistant edge maintain consistent contact with irregular or contoured surfaces, making it practical for both flat and curved workpieces. Discs can also be stacked to cover larger surface areas or to extend working thickness on heavier stock removal tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock abrasive disc for disc grinders and angle grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter disc with a 1/4-inch arbor mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with angle grinder and disc grinder safety practices. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing any disc. Verify the tool spindle speed rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM before operation, and inspect the disc for damage prior to each use. Follow applicable ANSI B7 abrasive product safety standards and the tool manufacturer guidelines for proper guard use and flange torque.
