The 3M 7100083082 is a multiple-wall, semi-rigid heat shrink tubing designed for durable electrical insulation and environmental sealing in demanding trade applications. Built from co-extruded, selectively cross-linked polyolefin, this tubing features an integral meltable inner wall that flows on activation to create a reliable moisture and contaminant barrier. The 2.5:1 shrink ratio provides a secure mechanical fit over a wide range of conductor and connector sizes. Each stick measures 48 inches in length and is black in color, making it suitable for inline splices, terminal protection, and wire bundle management.
This tubing is used in electrical, HVAC, and industrial wiring applications where both mechanical protection and environmental sealing are required. The semi-rigid wall construction resists abrasion and helps maintain shape after shrinking. It is well suited for protecting wire terminations, butt splices, and connectors in environments exposed to moisture, chemicals, or temperature fluctuations. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians commonly use this product during control wiring repairs and equipment installations.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink tubing solution for use with electrical wire terminations, butt splices, and connector insulation in residential and commercial electrical and HVAC control wiring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified HVAC technicians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor or termination. Apply heat evenly using an approved heat gun, working from the center outward, to allow the inner wall to flow completely and form a uniform seal. Do not use open flame to shrink tubing.
