The 3M 7100079469 is a modified polychloroprene heat shrink tubing designed for applications that require a tough, highly flexible protective covering. Known in the 3M line as NST Tubing, this product delivers superior cut-through and abrasion resistance while remaining unaffected by common fluids and solvents. Resistance to oils is excellent. The tubing maintains flexibility at low temperatures and can be marked using hot-stamp and print-wheel methods. When heated above 135 degrees C (275 degrees F), it rapidly shrinks to a skintight fit. Rated for continuous operation from -70 degrees C (-94 degrees F) to 121 degrees C (250 degrees F), it suits demanding environments across electrical and mechanical applications. Licensed electricians and industrial technicians are the typical installers.
This tubing is suited for wire harnessing, cable bundling, and protective sleeving in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. It is an appropriate choice wherever abrasion protection, fluid resistance, and low-temperature flexibility are required in a single covering solution. The 5/8 inch sizing accommodates a range of conductor bundles and component profiles. Sold in a 100-foot length, it provides ample material for multiple service runs or harness builds on a single job.
Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink sleeving solution for wire and cable protection applications requiring modified polychloroprene tubing in a 5/8 inch diameter.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or qualified industrial technicians. Disconnect and de-energize all circuits before applying tubing over conductors or terminals. Use an appropriate heat gun rated for shrink tubing work; avoid open flame, which can cause uneven shrink or material damage. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for wire insulation and sleeving in the target installation environment.
