The 3M 7100079242 is a thin-wall heat shrink tubing in the EPS-300 series, designed for environmental protection and electrical insulation in demanding field and shop applications. Sized at 3/4 inch nominal diameter and cut to 48-inch sticks, this tubing shrinks down to form a tight, protective sleeve over wire splices, terminals, connectors, and cable ends. The black EPS-300 material provides resistance to moisture, abrasion, and common shop contaminants. This header pack includes 5 pieces per order. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and panel wiring professionals use this type of tubing anywhere a durable, low-profile insulation sleeve is required.
EPS-300 thin-wall heat shrink tubing is suited for residential and commercial electrical work, control panel wiring, HVAC low-voltage wiring harnesses, and general wire bundling. The 48-inch stick length allows technicians to cut to length on the job, reducing waste and accommodating a wide range of conductor and terminal sizes. Its black color also aids in UV identification and cable organization in densely wired enclosures and junction boxes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use heat shrink sleeve compatible with standard 3/4 inch nominal wire, cable, and terminal applications in electrical and HVAC installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified HVAC technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink tubing to any conductor, splice, or terminal. Apply uniform heat with a heat gun, working from the center outward to prevent air pockets from forming under the sleeve. Do not use an open flame as a heat source, as uneven heat can damage the tubing or underlying components.
