The 3M 7100079186 is a Solus 1000 Series safety glasses kit designed for workers in environments where fogging, debris, and UV exposure are primary eye hazards. The kit includes blue and black Solus safety glasses with clear polycarbonate lenses coated with Scotchgard Anti-Fog Technology, an optional elastic head strap, and a removable foam gasket. Polycarbonate lenses absorb 99.9% of UV rays. The Scotchgard Anti-Fog coating is bonded directly to the lens and retains effectiveness through at least 25 washings, including disinfection with diluted bleach or alcohol wipes. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and other trade professionals working in humid or high-temperature conditions will find this kit a practical choice for sustained eye protection.
This kit is suited for industrial, construction, and trade environments where workers encounter steam, moisture, splatter, and airborne debris. The removable foam gasket reduces eye exposure to fine particles and vapor, while small vents in the gasket help minimize fogging from the inside. The elastic strap secures the glasses during active movement. Removable padded temples and a soft nose bridge allow the fit to be adjusted based on individual preference and task requirements. The glasses are appropriate for residential and commercial jobsite use where ANSI-rated eyewear is required.
Designed as an OEM-style kit for the 3M Solus 1000 Series safety eyewear platform. The elastic strap and foam gasket are accessories compatible with the included Solus frame.
No tools are required to attach or remove the foam gasket and elastic strap. The gasket and strap should be seated and inspected before each use to confirm a secure fit. Eyewear should be cleaned per manufacturer guidance to preserve coating integrity. Verify that this eyewear meets the eye protection requirements specified by the applicable jobsite safety plan or governing code before use.
