The 3M 7100077109 is a heavy-wall heat shrink cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in systems rated up to 1 kV. Part of the ITCSN-6000 series, this sleeve is manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin and ships in a 48-inch cut-to-length format with a factory-applied adhesive sealant. It shrinks from an expanded inner diameter of 6.00 inches down to a recovered inner diameter of 1.80 inches, accommodating a broad range of cable diameters from 2.1 to 4.8 inches. Licensed electricians and cable splicing technicians install this sleeve wherever moisture, mechanical stress, and environmental exposure are concerns.
This cable sleeve is suited for industrial, commercial, and utility electrical applications requiring reliable insulation and environmental sealing at medium-voltage levels up to 1 kV. The 48-inch length allows field technicians to cut the sleeve to the exact required length, reducing material waste and accommodating varied splice lengths in a single piece. The adhesive sealant layer bonds to the cable jacket during shrinking to create a moisture-resistant seal without additional tape or filler compound.
Designed for use on electrical cables and splices within the 2.1 to 4.8 inch diameter range, rated for systems up to 1 kV. UL Listed 486 D for 600 V applications under File Number E102356 with CSA certification.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified cable splicing technicians. De-energize and lockout-tagout the circuit before applying the sleeve in accordance with NFPA 70E and applicable NEC requirements. Use a calibrated heat gun or torch with appropriate temperature control to shrink the sleeve evenly from one end to the other, avoiding overheating that can damage the sealant layer or underlying cable insulation. Confirm full adhesive flow at both ends to verify a complete environmental seal before returning the circuit to service.
