The 3M 7100075697 is a Cubitron II Hookit Film Disc 775L engineered for aggressive stock removal on a wide range of substrates. It features 3M Precision Shaped Grain, a triangular ceramic mineral that slices through material rather than plowing across the surface the way conventional abrasives do. The result is a disc rated to cut up to 2 times faster and last up to 6 times longer than standard abrasive discs. At 6 inches in diameter and 180 grit, it suits finishing and blending passes where controlled material removal is required. The film backing adds tear resistance and helps the disc hold its edge under sustained pressure. Installed and used by metal fabricators, auto body technicians, and industrial finishers.
This disc is built for stock removal applications across metal, composites, and similar hard substrates. The hook-and-loop attachment system lets operators swap discs quickly without tools, reducing downtime on production or repair work. The 775L designation indicates the film-backed construction, which outperforms paper-backed discs in flex and durability. It is suited to both flat and contoured surfaces where consistent scratch patterns and fast cut rates matter. The 180-grit rating positions it for intermediate to fine material removal and surface preparation before finishing coats.
Designed for use with standard 6-inch hook-and-loop backup pads on pneumatic and electric random orbital and disc sanders used in metal fabrication, automotive body repair, and industrial surface preparation.
Install this disc onto a compatible 6-inch hook-and-loop backup pad, ensuring full surface contact before operating the tool. Power down the sander and disconnect air or electrical supply before changing discs. Do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the backup pad or sander in use. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace if tears or delamination are present.
