The 3M 7100075693 is a coated abrasive disc roll featuring Cubitron II 775L construction with Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain technology. Each disc measures 5 inches in diameter and carries a 220 grit rating, making it suited for controlled stock removal and surface finishing work. The triangular ceramic mineral is engineered to slice through material rather than plow or gouge, which translates to faster cut rates and extended disc life compared to conventional aluminum oxide or ceramic abrasives. A film backing adds tear resistance and helps the disc hold its edge shape through demanding applications. These discs use a Stikita pressure-sensitive adhesive attachment system for fast, tool-free disc changes on compatible random orbital and disc sanders.
This disc roll is designed for stock removal applications across a wide range of substrates including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and painted or primed surfaces. The 220 grit rating positions it for intermediate to finish-stage grinding and blending passes where controlled material removal and surface consistency are the priority. Fabricators, metal finishers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users. The roll format suits operations that cycle through large disc volumes and need efficient restocking on the floor.
Designed for use with 5 inch random orbital sanders and disc grinders equipped with a hook-and-loop or Stikita-compatible backup pad.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc firmly onto a clean, compatible Stikita or pressure-sensitive adhesive backup pad. Ensure the sander or grinder is powered off and unplugged before changing discs. Inspect the backup pad for wear or debris before attaching a new disc, as a damaged pad surface reduces adhesion and disc stability during operation. Follow tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum operating RPM to avoid disc separation.
