The 3M 7100075331 is a gray, double-sided, pressure-sensitive acrylic foam tape sold in a 0.5-inch-wide by 72-yard roll at 15.0 mil thickness. The closed-cell acrylic foam core conforms to irregular surfaces and bonds high and medium surface energy substrates without mechanical fasteners. A paper liner protects the adhesive until installation. This tape is commonly specified by contractors, fabricators, and maintenance technicians who need a reliable bonding solution that also delivers cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance in demanding environments.
This tape is suited for bonding applications where plasticizer exposure is a concern, such as attaching trim, panels, gaskets, or nameplates to painted metal, glass, or engineered plastics. Its conformable foam core allows it to fill minor surface irregularities and maintain bond integrity under dynamic loads. Typical end uses include HVAC equipment assembly, electrical enclosure labeling, and general industrial or commercial construction applications where a clean, fastener-free bond is required.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including painted metal, glass, and engineered plastics; not recommended for low surface energy substrates such as untreated polyethylene or polypropylene.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and degrease all bonding surfaces before applying the tape. Apply firm, even pressure across the full bond area to ensure full adhesive contact. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before subjecting the bond to stress. Installation is typically performed by hand without special tools, but a roller can improve contact uniformity on flat surfaces.
