The 3M 7100075222 is a coated abrasive film disc from the Cubitron II 775L series, engineered for high-speed stock removal across a range of metal and composite substrates. It features 3M Precision Shaped Grain, a ceramic mineral formed into a triangular shape that slices through material rather than plowing or grinding like conventional abrasive grains. At 5 inches in diameter and 220 grit, this disc is rated to 10,000 RPM and uses a Stikit pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for quick disc changes. It is suited for grinding, finishing, and blending applications where cut rate and disc longevity are priorities.
This disc is intended for use in production and fabrication environments where repeated stock removal is required. The 220 grit makes it appropriate for intermediate finishing work on metal, painted surfaces, and similar substrates. Technicians in metal fabrication, auto body, and general manufacturing use this disc on random orbital and disc sanders equipped with Stikit-compatible backup pads. The film backing resists tearing and holds its shape at the disc edge, which reduces waste during high-cycle use.
Designed for use with Stikit-compatible backup pads and random orbital disc sanders that accept 5-inch adhesive-backed discs.
Disc mounting and removal should be performed with the tool powered off and air supply disconnected. Ensure the backup pad is clean and free of debris before attaching the disc to achieve proper adhesion. Do not exceed the 10,000 RPM speed rating marked on the disc. Worn or damaged backup pads should be replaced before mounting a new disc to avoid uneven contact and premature disc failure.
