The 3M 7100075218 is a coated abrasive disc roll featuring Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain technology designed for high-efficiency stock removal on metal, composites, and other substrates. Each triangular-shaped ceramic grain is engineered to slice through material rather than plow or gouge like conventional abrasive minerals, delivering cut rates up to 2x faster and service life up to 4x longer than standard abrasive discs. The roll format uses a PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) Stikita backing for tool-free disc changes. At 6 inches in diameter and 220 grit, this disc targets finishing and fine stock-removal passes. The roll ships in a compact package weighing 5.556 pounds and is the standard unit of measure for this product line.
This disc roll is suited for metalworking, fabrication, and industrial finishing applications where consistent cut performance and reduced disc-change downtime are priorities. The 220 grit designation makes it appropriate for final stock removal and surface prep before coating or inspection. The roll format eliminates the need to peel individual disc liners, which reduces handling time on production lines or busy job sites. Typical users include metal fabricators, industrial maintenance technicians, and finishing tradespeople working with grinders or random orbital sanders that accept 6-inch PSA discs.
Designed for use with 6-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) backup pads on angle grinders and random orbital sanders that accept Stikita-style disc attachment.
Installation is performed by qualified metalworking or finishing tradespeople. Ensure the grinder or sander is powered off and disconnected from its power source before changing discs. Align the disc flat against a clean, dry PSA backup pad and apply firm even pressure to seat the adhesive. Do not exceed the RPM rating marked on the disc or backup pad.
