The 3M 7100074632 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and finishing operations on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel uses aluminum oxide abrasive in a soft, conformable unitized construction that keeps the abrasive in continuous contact with the workpiece surface. At 12 inches in diameter with a 1 1/4 inch arbor bore, it mounts to bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and automated finishing equipment. The unitized layered design resists smearing, minimizes heat buildup, and can run in either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, making it suitable for a broad range of manual and robotic finishing workflows.
This wheel is suited for fabrication shops, metal finishing operations, and industrial maintenance environments working with steel, stainless, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys, as well as many plastics and composites. It is commonly used in edge deburring, surface blending, and pre-plate or pre-coat finishing stages. The conformable construction makes it particularly effective for contoured or complex-shaped parts where consistent abrasive contact is critical. Machinists, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users.
Designed for use on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and robotic finishing systems accepting a 1 1/4 inch arbor and accommodating a 12 inch diameter wheel. Suitable for metal alloys, many plastics, and composite materials.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the grinder or finishing equipment manufacturer's mounting instructions. Verify the equipment spindle speed rating meets or does not exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel before mounting. Power down and lock out the equipment before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and do not operate a damaged wheel.
