The 3M 7100063615 is a Cubitron II Roloc Fiber Disc 987C engineered for heavy-duty metalworking applications. It uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain on a stiff fiber backing bonded with a high-strength resin to deliver fast stock removal with less operator pressure. The 2-inch disc runs at 80 grit, making it well suited for weld grinding, beveling, and flame-cut edge clean-up. A built-in grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures, which is critical when working heat-sensitive alloys. The Roloc quick-change attachment system allows fast disc swaps between grades or jobs without tools. Licensed metalworkers, fabricators, and pipe fitters are the primary installers of this consumable.
This disc is intended for use on carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium in both shop and field fabrication environments. Typical applications include high-pressure weld grinding, bevel preparation, and post-weld blending on structural and process piping. The 2-inch diameter fits Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders used across light and heavy industrial settings. The cooler-running grain reduces discoloration and oxidation, which is especially important on stainless steel and titanium where heat-affected zones can compromise material integrity.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders. Fits standard 3M Roloc mandrels and compatible third-party quick-change backing pads accepting 2-inch Roloc-style discs.
Installation and use of grinding discs should be performed by qualified metalworkers or fabricators familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing a disc. Confirm the tool RPM rating does not exceed the disc RPM rating before operation. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, gloves, and hearing protection when grinding.
