The 3M 7100063613 is a Cubitron II Roloc Fibre Disc in the 987C series, engineered for heavy-duty metalworking. It measures 2 inches in diameter and carries a 36-grit coarser abrasive grade suited to aggressive stock removal. The disc is built on a stiff fiber backing with a strong resin bond, and it uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology that maintains sharp cutting points under load. The Roloc quick-change attachment system makes grade swaps fast during production grinding. This disc is sold per each unit and intended for use by professional fabricators, welders, and metal-finishing tradespeople.
This disc is suited to weld grinding, beveling, and flame-cut edge clean-up on structural steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. The coarser 36 grit removes material rapidly and establishes a blended surface before finer finishing steps. An integrated grinding aid helps manage heat buildup, making the disc practical for heat-sensitive base metals where discoloration or stress cracking from excess heat is a concern. Typical installation environments include fabrication shops, field ironwork, and pipe preparation operations where high-pressure grinding is routine.
Designed for use with Roloc-compatible right-angle grinders and disc holders that accept 2-inch quick-change fibre discs. Verify that the backing pad speed rating meets or exceeds the operating RPM of the tool in use.
Installation is performed by qualified metalworking tradespeople or fabricators. Ensure the grinder is fully powered off and disconnected from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the backing pad and disc for damage before each use, and confirm the tool RPM rating is compatible with the disc rating. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA abrasive wheel safety standards during all grinding operations.
