The 3M 7100062644 is a modified polychloroprene heat shrink tubing sold in a 200-foot spool, designed for applications requiring a tough, highly flexible insulating cover. When heated above 135 degrees C (275 degrees F), the tubing rapidly shrinks to a skintight fit around wires, cables, and components. Rated for continuous operation from -70 degrees C (-94 degrees F) to 121 degrees C (250 degrees F), it maintains flexibility at low temperatures, making it suitable for demanding thermal environments. The tubing resists cut-through, abrasion, and common fluids and solvents, with excellent oil resistance. Electricians and wire harness technicians are the typical installers.
This tubing is suited for industrial and commercial wiring applications where mechanical protection and fluid resistance are priorities. It performs well in automotive, aerospace, electrical panel, and general wire bundling or strain-relief scenarios. The material accepts hot-stamp and print-wheel marking without surface preparation, which is useful for labeling cable assemblies in the field. Each carton contains 3 spools. The unit of measure is per foot, with a minimum order quantity of 600 feet.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for general electrical wiring, cable bundling, and wire harness protection applications across industrial and commercial installations.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or wire harness technicians. Power down all circuits before applying tubing to any live wiring assembly. Use a heat gun set to an appropriate temperature to achieve uniform shrinkage — avoid open flames, which can cause uneven shrink or material damage. Follow applicable NEC guidelines for insulation and wire protection requirements in the specific installation environment.
