The 3M 7100059282 is a unitized abrasive wheel built for mid-sequence metalworking tasks including deburring, surface cleaning, and scale removal. Part of the 700 Series, it features a medium-to-hard density construction with aluminum oxide mineral bonded into an open web structure. This design resists loading, extends abrasive service life, and delivers consistent cut on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals including aluminum and stainless steel. The 4-inch diameter wheel mounts via a 1/4-inch arbor using a unitized wheel mandrel, making it compatible with standard bench grinders, die grinders, and finishing machines used in fabrication and metalworking shops.
This wheel is suited for applications where the 600 Series falls short in edge durability or material density. Typical uses include removing punched-hole burrs on stainless steel, cleaning heavy scale and weld discoloration, removing heavy flashing, and smoothing medium-sized pits and scratches. Its bidirectional rotation capability — clockwise and counterclockwise — allows it to pair with a wider range of power tools and machine setups, making it practical for both bench-mounted and handheld tool configurations in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use with die grinders, bench grinders, and finishing machines that accept a 4-inch diameter unitized wheel mounted on a 1/4-inch arbor mandrel. A unitized wheel mandrel is required and sold separately.
Installation should be performed by qualified metalworking or fabrication personnel following the tool manufacturer's mounting instructions. Always power down and disconnect the tool before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify the tool's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the wheel's rated speed before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and do not use a wheel that shows signs of cracking or delamination.
