The 3M 7100053537 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for surface finishing and material removal in trade and industrial applications. Built on an X-weight cloth backing, it delivers the rigidity needed for aggressive stock removal while remaining flexible enough to conform to contoured surfaces. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive at 240 grit, placing it in the very fine grade range — well suited for finish sanding, light deburring, and surface preparation before coating. At 5 inches in diameter, it mounts directly to PSA-compatible backup pads without fasteners. Licensed trades and skilled fabricators working in metal finishing, woodworking, and composite prep rely on this disc for consistent, repeatable results.
This disc is rated for use with benchtop motors and random orbital sanders equipped with PSA backup pads. The 240 grit very fine grade makes it appropriate for final-stage sanding passes where surface finish quality matters — including prep work ahead of primer, paint, or sealant application. The maroon disc color identifies the series visually on the bench. No vacuum holes are included, so this disc is intended for non-perforated backup pad setups. It is sold individually (package quantity of 1), with a minimum order quantity of 50 units.
Designed for use with benchtop motors and random orbital sanders equipped with PSA-style backup pads. Part of the 3M 348D series.
PSA discs are installed by a technician or fabricator — power down and fully de-energize the sander or benchtop motor before changing discs. Peel the liner from the adhesive backing and press the disc firmly and evenly onto a clean, dry backup pad to ensure full adhesive contact. Avoid running the disc beyond its rated surface speed. Inspect the disc before each use and discard any disc showing tears, edge separation, or adhesive failure.
