The 3M 7100049215 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal workpieces prior to plating or buffing operations. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continually exposed. The result is a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish throughout the life of the belt. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making this belt suitable for both hand-guided and automated finishing setups.
This belt measures 18 inches in length and 3/4 inch in width and is suited for use on metal fabrication lines, precision grinding operations, and robotic finishing cells. It performs well in applications where a repeatable surface finish is required across high production volumes. The three-dimensional abrasive structure maintains consistency from the first pass to the last, which reduces variation in robotic or fixture-guided passes. Typical end uses include pre-plate polishing, pre-buff preparation, and fine stock removal on steel, stainless steel, and similar metals.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and robotic grinding cells that accept 18-inch by 3/4-inch abrasive belts. Intended for metal finishing applications including pre-plate and pre-buff preparation on steel and similar workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Confirm the machine is powered down and locked out before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for damage prior to each use and do not exceed the speed rating of the belt or the machine.
