The 3M 7100045944 is a coated abrasive disc roll in the Cubitron II 775L series, designed for aggressive stock removal on metal, composites, and similar substrates. It features 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, which uses triangular ceramic mineral structures engineered to slice through material rather than plow or gouge like conventional abrasives. The result is a disc that cuts up to 2x faster and lasts up to 6x longer than standard abrasive products. At 5 inches in diameter and 120 grit, it is well suited for grinding, blending, and surface preparation work in fabrication and finishing environments. The Stikita film backing resists tearing and holds edge geometry through the life of the disc.
This disc roll is used in metalworking, fabrication shops, and general industrial finishing applications where high removal rates and disc longevity are priorities. The 120 grit rating positions it for intermediate stock removal and surface conditioning rather than final finishing passes. Film backing provides dimensional stability and tear resistance compared to paper-backed alternatives, making it effective for use on angle grinders and random orbital tools in both production and job-site settings. The roll format and Stikita attachment system support fast disc changes to minimize downtime during high-volume operations.
Designed for use with 5 inch Stikita-compatible angle grinders and random orbital sanders used in metal fabrication and industrial surface preparation applications.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the tool powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the tool arbor and backing pad are clean and undamaged before mounting. Inspect each disc for defects before use and operate within the maximum RPM rating marked on the tool. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when performing abrasive grinding operations.
