The 3M 7100045905 is a coated abrasive disc roll in the Cubitrona II 732U series, designed for aggressive stock removal on a wide range of surfaces. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain — a triangular mineral engineered to slice through material rather than plow or gouge like conventional abrasives. The result is a disc that cuts up to two times faster and lasts up to four times longer than standard abrasive discs. Each disc measures 6 inches in diameter and is rated at 80 grit, making it well suited for rapid material removal in grinding and blending operations. The disc roll format uses a Stikita pressure-sensitive adhesive backing for fast, liner-free disc changes.
This disc roll is intended for use in fabrication shops, metalworking, and surface preparation applications where high stock removal rates are the primary goal. The 80 grit level handles initial grinding passes on steel, aluminum, and similar substrates before finer finishing steps. The roll configuration eliminates individual disc liners, reducing downtime during disc changes on production floors or job sites. It is typically used by metal fabricators, welders, and surface prep technicians working with angle grinders and random orbital sanders equipped for Stikita-compatible backing pads.
Designed for use with Stikita-compatible 6 inch backup pads on angle grinders and random orbital sanders configured for PSA disc attachment.
Ensure the backing pad is clean and free of debris before attaching each disc to maintain full adhesive contact. Power down the grinder or sander completely before changing discs. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the tool and backing pad. Proper eye protection and respiratory controls are required when grinding metals or coated surfaces.
